Fight for Racial Justice and LGBTQ Rights this Pride Month!

During this Pride month, The Gay Rave and Circuit Almanac celebrates the LGBTQ community while standing in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

For the month of June, for every sale at the Gay Almanac Shop (https://douglau.com/gayalmanac/shop), we will be donating to the following organizations fighting for racial justice and LGBTQ rights: NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Campaign Zero, The National Police Accountability Project, The Trevor Project, Equality Federation, National Center for Transgender Equality. Learn more about each organization below.

You may also choose to donate directly to these organizations through our ActBlue link: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/gayalmanac
If you donate more than $20 and send the receipt to admin@gayalmanac.com, we’ll send you a Gay Almanac Sticker Sheet (while supplies last).
Together, we will be the change that this country needs! #HappyPride #BlackLivesMatter

Organizations Fighting for Racial Justice and LGBTQ Rights

NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund – The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.

Campaign Zero – Funds donated to Campaign Zero support the analysis of policing practices across the country, research to identify effective solutions to end police violence, technical assistance to organizers leading police accountability campaigns and the development of model legislation and advocacy to end police violence nationwide. Joincampaignzero.org

National Police Accountability Project – NPAP was created as a non-profit to protect the human and civil rights of individuals in their encounters with law enforcement and detention facility personnel. The central mission of NPAP is to promote the accountability of law enforcement officers and their employers for violations of the Constitution and the laws of the United States.

The Trevor Project – Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.

Equality Federation – Equality Federation is the movement builder and strategic partner to state-based organizations advocating for LGBTQ people. From Equality Florida to Freedom Oklahoma to Basic Rights Oregon, we amplify the power of the state-based LGBTQ movement.

The National Center for Transgender Equality – The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. In the nation’s capital and throughout the country, NCTE works to replace disrespect, discrimination, and violence with empathy, opportunity, and justice. NCTE envisions a society in which transgender people not only survive, but thrive, with accepting families and communities, full self-determination over their identities and bodies, and freedom from disrespect, discrimination and violence. For this vision to become a reality, we must also create equity, equal opportunity, safety, health, and economic well-being for all people over their entire lifetimes.
